On February 2, 2026, the Central Publicity Department’s new media platform “Xuexi Qiangguo” shared the announcement from Guangdong Television regarding the upcoming release of the large-scale documentary Glory of Pengcheng. The documentary officially premiered on February 3 on Guangdong Television. Once again, the extraordinary years during which 20,000 infrastructure engineering soldiers pioneered and transformed Shenzhen captured nationwide attention.
As the images of these veteran “pioneer oxen” reappeared on screen, audiences were deeply moved. The documentary vividly portrays the spirit of the military—unyielding courage, perseverance against nature, and dedication forged through hardship. Their resolute expressions, disciplined demeanor, and the scenes depicting how they transformed the once-barren land of early Shenzhen Special Economic Zone brought tears to viewers’ eyes once more.
The third episode of the documentary, “Taking the Lead as Pioneers,” stands out as particularly compelling. The story of Mr. Shen Yuanbiao, founder of Shenzhen Esignaturechain Technology Co., Ltd., is especially touching. Drawing on the courage, integrity, and resilience forged during his military service, Mr. Shen embarked on multiple entrepreneurial ventures, overcoming unimaginable challenges. For 28 years, he has remained deeply committed to the seal industry.
